Open Polytechnic is a government-funded and owned, leading distance and online learning provider since 1946. The Institute caters to 30K students per year through their programmes. They offer 100 qualifications and around 1,000 courses which are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. The courses include: accounting, built environments, business & management, communication, education, engineering, environment, exercise, financial services, foundation & bridging, health & wellbeing, horticulture, IT, legal, library & information studies, pharmacy, psychology, rea estate, and social work. The range of qualifications allows students to move from certificate to diploma and degree level and includes technical and vocational training, through to higher professional and continuing education.
