A tertiary education provider for the last 110 years, NMIT is a crown entity subsidiary and one of 16 ITPs brought together under the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST). The Institute is ranked at 4872 from Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. MIT offers more than 100 programmes at certificate, diploma and degree level across a broad range of areas. Along with traditional courses, they also offer specialist qualifications such as aquaculture, winemaking and viticulture, conservation, maritime and aviation engineering. Some of the programmes are available online through Moodle, their online learning platform, and a combination of online and onsite workshops. MIT is spread across two campuses located in Nelson and Blenheim in South Island.
