The institute is ranked among the top two polytechnics/institutes of technology in New Zealand and has a world rank of 3882 from Webometric Ranking of World Universities. EIT is spread across 10 campuses across Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Hastings, Napier, Otatara, Ruatoria and Gisborne. More than 150 postgraduate, degree, diploma and certificate level programmes are offered across a variety of subject areas. The subject areas include: natural sciences, animal management, arts & design, beauty & hairdressing, business, computing, creative studies, driving, English, fashion, health & community wellness, hospitality, trades, nursing & healthcare, teaching, sports, wine science, tourism, and trades. All research is community focussed and addresses local and national concerns and, in some cases, international issues.
