Curtin rose to 230th position in the world in the QS World University Ranking 2019-20 and received a five-star overall excellence rating in the QS Stars rating. The 2018 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) report also found that Curtin graduates with a postgraduate degree earned the highest salaries among their graduate peers in Western Australia. In the 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) results, Curtin University was acknowledged for its national and international reputation for research excellence. Curtin has over 90 exchange partnerships with universities in more than 20 countries. Online courses are offered through edX and MOOC and has more than 17k enrolments.

QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020, ranked Curtin at #2 for Mineral and Mining Engineering, in the top 50 for Earth and Marine Sciences and in the top 100 for three other subjects: Civil and Structural Engineering, Architecture / Built Environment and Sports-related subjects. The University is truly global with campuses in Australia, Dubai, Malaysia, Mauritius and Singapore, as well as with partnerships with more than 130 institutions worldwide. Within Australia, there are four campuses in Perth.
